UV Penetration & Protection Test System TF131, or Fabric Anti-UV Tester, is used for testing the UV protection properties of textiles. Fabric samples are measured in a double-beam spectrophotometer with an integrated sphere. UV Penetration & Protection Test System complies with a series of fabric UV protection test standards, such as AATCC 183, BS 7914, AS/NZS 4399, etc. Fabric UV Test is more and more popular in the textile industry.
Description
Application of UV Penetration & Protection Test System TF131
UV Penetration & Protection Tester TF131 can directly measure the textile UV protection coefficient UPF.
Measurable parameters: ultraviolet A band transmittance ratio: T (UVA), ultraviolet B band transmittance ratio: T (UVB), UV protection coefficient: UPF
UV Penetration & Protection Test System TF131 Measures the fabric samples in a double-beam spectrophotometer with an integrated sphere. Scan the sample in the UVA and UVB regions of the spectrum, and the detector inside the integrating sphere will effectively collect the transmitted radiation. The software calculates UV penetration factors and sun protection factors from the scan data. It runs on a PC under Microsoft Windows and controls the spectrophotometer, automates the measurement process, and generates a printed report. PC and printer is optional order.
Features of UV Penetration & Protection Test System TF131
Built-in integrating sphere spectrophotometer, wavelength automatic scanning, (can measure all UV bands) wide test range, high test accuracy.
UV photoelectric sensors can measure fluorescent specimens.
This fabric UV protection tester is applicable to a wide range of international standards.

Test Procedure
Principle: Radiate the specimen with monochromatic UV rays or multicolored UV rays, collect the total spectral transmission rays, determine the total spectral transmission ratio and calculate the UV protection factor UPF value of the specimen.
1 Select a suitable specimen according to the standard and conditioning as required.
2 Place the specimen in front of the entrance to the integrating sphere, with the fabric side facing away from the skin towards the UV light source.
3 For instruments where the monochrome is placed in front of the specimen, apply a UV transmission filter and check its validity.
4 Record the transmission ratio between 290 ~ 400 nm, at least once every 5 nm.
5 Calculate UVA, UVB, and UPF according to the formulae given in the standard.
More information:
Clothing is an important barrier against ultraviolet radiation, however, the UV protection, or coverage rate of ordinary clothing is generally at 50%, which does not meet the requirements of human safety protection, so the development of specialized anti-UV textile products, followed by its detection, has become a concern for the industry. So, Fabric UV protection-related testing will have a huge development space in the future.
